Privacy Policy

This is the personal ministry website of Doug and Priscilla Higby, who serve with Wycliffe Bible Translators. We collect as little about you as we can, we use it only to stay in touch with you, and we never sell it.

What We Collect

  • When you subscribe: your email address, your name if you give it, which of our newsletters you chose and the date you signed up.
  • When you write to us: your name, email address and message, sent through the form on our contact page.
  • When you read our emails: see "Email Tracking" below.

How We Use It

We use your information only to send you the updates you asked for, to answer your messages and to send the sign-in links that let you manage your subscription. We never sell, rent or trade your information, and we never share it with anyone for their marketing.

Email Tracking

Our newsletters record whether an email was opened and which links in it were clicked. We also note which page of this site you signed up from. This helps us learn which news our partners find most useful. Most email apps let you block this by turning off automatic image loading.

Services That Help Us

A few services handle information on our behalf, only to do the job described:

  • Ghost, the software that runs this site and our mailing list, on a server we manage.
  • Mailgun, which delivers our emails.
  • Web3Forms, which forwards contact-form messages to our inbox.
  • jsDelivr, which serves some of the site's scripts.
  • YouTube, which hosts our videos. When you play an embedded video, YouTube may set its own cookies.

We do not take gifts on this site. Gifts are made through Wycliffe Bible Translators and are covered by Wycliffe's privacy policy.

Cookies

If you sign in to manage your subscription, the site sets a cookie to keep you signed in. We use no advertising cookies.

Your Choices

  • Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom.
  • You can change which newsletters you receive at any time on your account page.
  • To ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, or to have it deleted, write to us through our contact page.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date at the top.
